|
|
So Treasure Island has been purchased and being located right in the middle of the Amethera continent it holds much potential for the future.
What do I plan to do with it?
The answer is very simple To turn it into one of the best places on the planet for you, the players!
How am I going to go about it?
There are two main parts to the island. The town, which will hopefully spring up not far from the current estates and the grounds of the island itself everything that blue box covers.
The town:
Currently consisting of the TI mansion and a broken Hangar I envisage the town eventually becoming a hive of activity. It will have all the services of most major towns, in a rough order of importance:
- Teleporter access
- Area protection (Turrets)
- Revival Terminal(s)
- Trade Terminal(s)
- Repair Terminal(s)
- Storage Facility
- Manufacturing Terminals
- Society Terminal(s)
- Auctioneer, Technician
- Everything else.
As these come online the towns usefulness grows, first to cater for those carrying out activities on the island and then the auxiliary services.
The town will be neatly organised to minimise time taken to reach the various services.
The lands:
So whats in store for the spacious land that is the island itself?
The objective is to make it a fun, enjoyable place to spend your time.
Somewhere active and entertaining, not silent and ghostly.
A place of safety in the shifting political landscape of Amethera.
To achieve this objective requires much effort and I believe much consultation with various elements of the community.
When it becomes possible I plan to:
Alter the monsters and monster variants to create suitable hunting grounds both for the more advanced, long time players and those that are relatively new by comparison.
Improve the mining situation, hopefully forming rich mineral veins, placement of rare resources and more.
These will both be done in consultation with the people who will be active on the island the most you, the player community.
The pro hunters know what a good spawn is like, and what monsters they prefer.
The low and mid level hunters know what monsters they prefer.
The miners know what minerals they want.
The traders and manufacturers know what is in demand.
Therefore it makes sense to get all of you involved
Of course a balance has to be struck. The island is large, but not infinitely large so there will be limits as to what will fit and what will not and thus the needs of everyone need to be carefully balanced with the space available.
None of this will happen overnight unfortunately. The ability to modify the lands will arrive hopefully sometime next year and until more is known about what is possible only some general wishes will be collected.
You can rest assured that I plan to be here for many years to come and together we will see to it that the island achieves its full potential!
Regards,
Deathifier

umm, grats on your ownership of the island. you seem to have a good vision of what you want the island to become. I'm curious what makes you think you will be able to control what creatures and what mineral resources will be present? Have you been told by MA that you would be able to? I think most of us would appreciate your desire to have an efficient and populous town, but why do you think you are going to be able to place any buildings or lots in a way that is going to be efficient? Why do you think you will have any control over where any of the major stuff goes? Did MA tell you you could?
I guess my general point is this...the vision you have for TI is nice but not realistic. There is no way MA will let you control the animals and resources. You, like the societies that have fought for land, will be at the mercy of what MA decides to put there. Honestly, it's very possible you payed 265k for the best snablesnot young hunting grounds on Amethera with 2 mining resources every 1 square kilometer.
I hope I'm wrong.
Good luck with that.

The words of a pure pessimist..
I know MA has stated that you will eventually be able to build buildings at the ground.. when it will come is a more relevant question though.
I also really doubt you can choose what minerals should be on the ground.. that would be.... too good :g
If you have any inside information about this that we don't know about please share
Other than that I love your plans.. I'm sure you will be a good TI Lord

This is the only clue I can think off which Marco presented in the Roadmap for PE a while ago.

well yes I am a bit of a pessimist when it comes to PE. it's only because of the many disappointments given me by MA. that being said, I wouldn't have been here for well over 2 years if I didn't have and didn't continue to have some hope that PE will continue to become better.

According to the road map a land management system will be implemented... This I would assume will enable land owners to survey and explore for new deposits and ease accessibilty to minerals and enmatters and or breed alternate mobs for their land
If this is a skill based system then Land Owners are gonna be investing their Tax revenue to build their land management skills. Based upon everything we have seen so far, a skill based system is most likey.
My personal wish is that some of the neccesities for constructing cities,
is crafting based. it would be great to see a construction skill tree, that would make use of all the raw materials in PE, can u imagine how much ore would be needed to build a Service center, it would be great for the economy.
Sounds like a great plan Deathifier, good luck.
PS. I think this adds a wonderful new dimension to Project-Entropia and really makes a lot of sense if you have accumilated a lot of Ped or if you simple want to invest a lot of cash.

Oooh, i really see that celler, with the potions brewing and caged mobs beeing used for breeding some new sort of nastiness
How about a mix of Aetherex, Hogglo and Cersumon? A flying lump of jelly that does ranged elemental dmg
Anyway, good luck with the island, hopefully the new vu will bring you at least some new stuff to play with.

NO It would completly suck !! Than every landowner would add meganite, rugaritz , angelic, dunkel , binary and would eventually screw prices since all the rare ore would become common like hell , than all crafted items made with theese would be almost tt food and crafters would make very little profit .
This feauture should never be added IMO since it would mess up prices too much !
